Webinar: From Outrage to Action-The Massey Commission of Sangamon County, IL

On July 6, 2024, Sonya Massey was killed by a Sangamon County sheriff’s deputy, sparking new outrage on old grievances regarding public safety both locally and nationally. In response to demands for change, the county empaneled a commission in Ms. Massey’s honor with a mission to take action and make recommendations that expand safe and equitable access to public safety services. The Justice Collaboratory is providing policy research and advisory support to the Commission. This webinar features representatives of the Massey Commission and the Sangamon County community who will discuss their efforts to translate a community’s outrage into meaningful action.
