Editorial Assistant-The Notebook (Yale applicants only)
The Justice Collaboratory (JC) is a social science research center at Yale Law School that brings together an interdisciplinary group of scholars and researchers to cooperatively work toward a theory-driven, evidence-informed justice system. Our work is centered around the criminal legal system but is more broadly concerned with the goal of building vibrant communities. The JC infuses policy with empirical research to make the criminal legal system in America more just, effective, and democratic.
About the Role:
The JC seeks a part-time, summer editorial assistant to help coordinate editing and publication of The Notebook, our creative annual publication that exist somewhere between an academic journal and a popular magazine.
The position is 20 hours a week and begins June 1st and goes through the summer, with an option to extend into the fall.
Responsibilities:
Organization of editorial submissions and maintenance of detailed project tracker.
Overall support for the publication’s editors.
Coordination with graphic designers, artists and copy editor, as necessary.
Maintenance of distribution list and management of shipping hard copies.
Support in planning fall launch events and exhibits.
Participation in regular team meetings.
Requirements:
Strong writing skills.
Keen attention to detail.
Project management experience a plus.
Commitment to social justice & impactful research.
Personable, empathetic, and collaborative attitude.
